Ideology, The Code You Choose To Live by.
Let’s talk about our “Personal Code”, not “Computer Code” or “Pirate Code”, but rather; Each as we travel down our road, must have a “Code” that we can live by. If you don’t have a “Code” you end up living your life by someone else’s “Code” or worse by the “Pirate Code” or like most, just blowing in the wind without thinking about it. Many people are living within an ideology not even knowing that someone else is imposing their ideology upon them, like Karl Marx. So then, what is the ideology that I subscribe to and what ideology do you subscribe to? Are you, “blowing in the wind, and going along to get along”? What are the options and why? What is your Ideology, have you thought about it? I claim to be a Constitutional Conservative but that label is far to general.
The first thing that I believe is necessary to consider, in this discussion is, that, I like many others who share my ideology are all “well-intentioned”. Intentions are what separate the “good” from “evil”. Therefore, being “well-intentioned” eliminates evil from my ideology. I’m sure we can all agree that doing “intentional harm” is malicious and evil, to which we cannot subscribe. Accidental harm is another issue altogether.
However, my father used to say, “beware, the road to hell is paved with good intentions”. Don’t get suckered in to what might seem to be a good idea that results in a bad decision. A bad decision, even for a good reason, is still a bad decision. Look before you leap, i.e., evaluate first and consider the consequences. You can still be liable and held responsible for accidental harm.
Briefly, I support the ideological framework created for our society by our US Constitution which allows each of us to be free to choose our own moral “Code”. I’m sure that as US citizens, Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians or other, we all say that, but what is the truth? What causes divergence in our ideologies? Please follow this discussion, as I will occasionally continue to post and respond to comments on this subject.
This post will be continued shortly, the discussion is far to long for one post…
